🗺️🚗 Hop.Earth basically turns real roads from around the world into a massive browser-based driving playground. The project uses OpenStreetMap road geometry and real elevation data to procedurally generate drivable 3D environments around almost any location you choose. Instead of downloading a gigantic prebuilt map, the world is generated around you as you drive. That means famous mountain passes, canyon roads, highways, city streets, and even roads near your own house can become part of the experience. The game also includes dynamic day-and-night lighting, vehicle physics, custom routes, and multiplayer racing. Under the hood, it uses browser-based 3D technology including Three.js alongside Bullet Physics and Ammo.js. What makes the concept especially interesting is that the road layouts and elevation are based on real geographic data rather than fictional racing maps. It is still an experimental project, so the driving physics, graphics, and overall polish are nowhere near dedicated simulators like Assetto
