🇩🇪 The German Grand Prix is closer to a comeback than it has been in years, with F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali saying a return “definitely will happen.” Hockenheim has already approached Formula 1 and held initial discussions about bringing the championship back to Germany. Domenicali describes the project as medium-term rather than short-term, making 2028 a realistic possibility, although no return year has officially been confirmed. Germany’s last actual German Grand Prix took place at Hockenheim in 2019, followed by the one-off Eifel Grand Prix at the Nürburgring in 2020. Hockenheim’s new ownership has outlined roughly €250 million in investment over the coming years, including major development around the circuit and its surrounding facilities. Germany’s F1 presence is also stronger now that Audi has joined Mercedes as a German manufacturer on the grid.
