The new BYD Seal 5 DM-i is an interesting proposition because BYD has clearly cut back on some of the features, interior amenities, and even some of the performance of the outgoing model. But in return, you get a car that’s effectively cheaper, with the introductory price starting below ₱900,000 (with the current discount). So the real question isn’t whether the new Seal 5 is better than the old one, but whether we’re willing to accept a reduced feature list in exchange for a more affordable plug-in hybrid. Would you?
