❗️This might have been the craziest week of car news in 2026, with Monterey Car Week delivering record-breaking auctions, new hypercars and some seriously enthusiast-focused machinery. The biggest headline came from Carroll Shelby’s 1964 Cobra Daytona Coupe CSX2300, which sold for an incredible $42.905 million and became the most expensive American car ever sold at public auction.
