The Fast & Furious saga is finally heading toward its last ride, and Vin Diesel says the ending hit him harder than expected. Fast Forever will be the 11th and final mainline Fast & Furious movie, with a theatrical release set for March 17, 2028. Diesel says the finale went through roughly four years of development and four different sets of writers before reaching the current version. The latest screenplay was written by Michael Lesslie, and Diesel says he was already tearing up halfway through reading it. By the time he reached the end, he says he was crying. He later called it “the best script I have read in decades,” setting expectations extremely high for how the franchise plans to close out its story.
