🤩 No AI. No filters. Just perfect timing. The recent solar eclipse created one of the most unreal Porsche 906 photos you’ll ever see. Photographer Pablo García captured the legendary Carrera 6 beneath the eclipsed Sun, with Porsche later sharing the shot for World Photography Day. The celestial backdrop was very real: the 2026 total solar eclipse crossed Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia, Spain and a small portion of Portugal, with partial coverage visible across much of Europe. And the car sitting underneath it is arguably just as special as the event happening above it. Introduced in 1966, the Porsche 906 Carrera 6 was a purpose-built competition machine featuring a fiberglass body wrapped around an ultra-light tubular steel spaceframe. The entire car weighed just 675 kg (1,488 lbs) — lighter than many modern motorcycles with their riders and luggage combined. Its 2.0-liter air-cooled flat-six produced around 210 hp, which doesn’t sound outrageous today until you remember how little mass it had to move.
