The second generation of the Dacia Spring has been presented. It is a deep rebadge of the current Renault Twingo and therefore a car that really meets the European consumers’ needs. One significant change is the production location. The previous one was a rebadge of the Renault Kwid made in China. Renault has gone the opposite way by bringing back the production to Europe, in Slovenia. This is a big step to decrease the depencence on China. The all-new Spring is bigger but still frugal with just 80 hp powering a single electric engine with a battery of 27.5 kWh of capacity. Price starts at 18,000 euro and will be only available in Europe. A good first step to rival the competition from China such as the BYD Seagull. But is it affordable enough?
