Vehicle safety isn’t just about protecting those inside the car... 🚘🚶🚴 Vulnerable road users, including pedestrians and cyclists, make up a significant proportion of those killed or seriously injured on our roads. That’s why our safety assessments also look at how well a vehicle’s design can help protect people OUTSIDE the vehicle during a crash. Using specialised head and leg impactors, we test different areas across the front of the vehicle including the bumper, bonnet, windscreen and A-pillars to assess injury risk at an impact speed of 40km/h.
