Do light trucks also have auto emergency braking (AEB)? Some do. As part of our Light Truck ADAS Safety Comparison, we tested the FOTON T5’s auto braking system. It could detect other vehicles when approaching from behind and apply the brakes, but performance varied across different speeds and scenarios. While forward collision warnings generally gave the driver enough time to react and brake, automatic braking was less effective against stationary vehicles and at higher approach speeds towards slower-moving vehicles.
