These were the world’s most profitable carmakers during the first six months of this year. Ferrari is not a surprise. It made €1.63 billion in operating profits in H1 2026, up 4% vs H1 2025. That’s 43.01% of total revenue of €3.79 billion. Despite the strong results, the margin fell by 0.73 points compared to H1 2025. Lower shipments of high-end trims explained part of the small drop. Will the Luce change this? JLR remains solid despite the big drop on sales of 15% and profits of 14%. Its margin fell from 27.58% in H1 2025 to 26.78% in H1 2026. Toyota kept the third position but lost ground. Its operating profits made up 12.73% of its revenue in H1 2016. This margin totaled 16.31% a year earlier. Toyota is feeling the impact of more Chinese competition in the emerging markets, Australia, and Europe. Toyota’s drop of 3.58 points on its margin put it almost at the same level of GM, which made 12.72% of its revenue in operating profits. The American maker decreased its margin by 1.03 points compared to H1 2025
