😮🏎️ Modern F1 cars make the machines of the early 1990s look almost like junior single-seaters. Place Ferrari’s 1991 F1-91 beside a 2025-generation car and the scale difference is impossible to ignore. The F1-91 measured about 4.4 meters long and weighed 505 kg—or 1,113 pounds—while most 2025 cars exceeded 5.5 meters and had an FIA minimum weight of 800 kg, or 1,764 pounds, without fuel. That represents roughly 25% more length and 58% more weight, so they have not literally doubled in size, but the increase is still enormous. The 2025 regulations also allowed a wheelbase of up to 3.6 meters, compared with approximately 2.88 meters for the 1991 Ferrari. Interestingly, the older Ferrari was actually wider at 2.13 meters, while 2025 cars were limited to 2.0 meters.
