❗️Bugatti just revealed the Destrier, a one-of-one, 1,600-PS W16 hypercar built on the Bolide and shaped into the lowest silhouette the company has ever created. It is the third creation from Bugatti’s ultra-exclusive Programme Solitaire, following the Brouillard and F.K.P. Hommage. The name comes from the finest and strongest type of medieval knight’s war horse, matching the car’s crouched, muscular stance. Beneath the new body sits the Bolide’s carbon-fiber monocoque and complete 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 powertrain, producing roughly 1,578 horsepower. At just one meter, or 39.4 inches, tall, it is dramatically lower than every previous Bugatti and rides on larger 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Bugatti removed the Bolide’s extreme wings, vents and aerodynamic add-ons, replacing them with a wider horseshoe grille, a reworked C-line, a narrow waist and an elegant rear wing inspired by the Chiron Profilée.
