Fast-forward to September 21, 2026, and AAA lists California’s statewide averages at roughly $6.17 regular, $6.39 midgrade and $6.59 premium. The California 76 station pictured here goes even further, advertising $6.37 regular, $6.67 plus and $6.87 premium, putting it directly inside the movie’s fictional price range. That $6.87 premium price is literally identical to the $6.87 middle-grade price displayed on the Mobil sign in I Am Legend.
