The Fiat 500 is facing the most difficult times of its career. The iconic city-car has never seen so low sales volumes since its re-introduction in 2007. The stop of production of the first generation in 2023 left the brand without a direct successor powered by a combustion engine at a reasonable price. Fiat introduced the MHEV (mild hybrid) version of the second generation almost two years later but it was too late. The historical data from Quattroruote Professional tells a lot. While Fiat has reduced the price of the electric version, the ICE one is still very expensive compared to tje inflation-adjusted prices that the brand offered back in 2007-2008. Even if today the price gap between the BEV and ICE is the lowest ever, the latter's price is still very high.
