I know that I mostly cover the light vehicle segments in my channels. However, this time I’m bringing you some cool facts from the interesting Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) market, thanks to my collaboration with Dataforce. According to their data for Europe, the market of the heavy trucks and buses (N2/N3 vehicles or those with a weight of more than 6 tones) totaled 255,857 units between January and August 2026. The volume increased by 6% compared to the same period of last year, driven mainly by higher demand in Poland (the 4th largest market), Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands. Mercedes Trucks leads the ranking with 21% share thanks to the strong position of the Astros (+26%). Volvo Trucks outsold MAN with 37,400 units sold, and driven by the FH Series (29,490 units). Volkswagen’s MAN followed with 37,328 units, of which 17,988 units corresponded to the TGX. Dataforce shows that 92% of the HCVs sold in Europe were powered by diesel engines.
