Their database shows that among those new cars bought five years ago, the electric ones lost most of their value. These vehicles kept just 38.5% of their initial value after five years of use. In contrast, the LPG cars - those powered by liquefied petroleum gas showed the best performance in terms of retained value. This is still a popular fuel-type in Italy. The results confirm the fact that the EVs (BEV and PHEVs included) are less appealing in the second hand market due to concerns around their battery life cycle.
