This charts is a good summary to understand how critical the situation at Nissan is. What was Japan’s second largest carmaker is now its fourth behind Suzuki and Honda. The group has lost 2 million units in annual sales since 2019 mainly because the big sales slump in China, but also because of the deteriorating situation in USA. At the same time, the troubling relationship with Renault has not helped either. It has not been able to grab a decent piece of the Indian market, and it is highly exposed to the Chinese competition in Mexico and Brazil.
