When the Mazda CX-90 PHEV first came out, the transmission behavior and hybrid powertrain felt inconsistent and unsure during certain low speed situations, causing the Mazda CX-90 to end up feeling unrefined overall. However, in a recent week long 1000 mile road trip review of the Mazda CX-90 PHEV, we noticed no such issues. In fact, the Mazda CX-90 felt pretty great, leading us to believe that Mazda spent some time refining this powertrain after its initial debut.
